THE HISTORY OF ST AUGUSTINE, FLORIDA

It all started when King Phillip II of Spain instructed Don Pedro Menendez de Aviles, Spain’s most experienced admiral to explore and to colonize the territory. When Don Pedro arrived off the coast of Florida, it happened to be August 28, 1565 which was known during those days as the Feast Day of StAugustine. Hence this beautiful town received her name!

St Augustine is was first official city in America and thus the oldest city in the United States! (you can say wow now!)
